One of the most helpful kitchen equipment you can have in your kitchen is none other than the humble food processor.
Food processor has been around for a long time, do you really need it?
You don’t really need it actually.
You can do all the food cutting and chopping using a knife and a broad.
The real benefit of a food processor is to save you time.
You can literally cut and mince anything in just a couple of seconds.
Food processor can be divided into 2 categories:
- Manual hand operated
- Electric power
In this article, I am going to write on choosing the best electric food processor in Malaysia.
Best food processor
What is the criteria in choosing the best food processor in Malaysia?
I used the online e-commerce site Lazada Malaysia as my research platform.
I will list out the food processor with the most number of user reviews.
User reviews usually means 2 things.
- That particular food processor brand and model is selling well.
- Buyers are generally happy with their purchase and would spend their time to share a review / feedback for other potential buyers.
After researching Lazada Malaysia, the following are 4 top food processors based on the criteria of user reviews.
1) My first recommendation is the Kenwood FPP225 Food Processor.
As I am writing this article on June 2017, the FPP225 has over 11 user reviews.
This unit was given mainly 4 – 5 stars rating for user satisfaction.
Feature wise, the Kenwood FPP225 is dual function meaning you can use the 3.0 litre bowl and the 1.5 litre liquidiser.
It also comes with a standard 1 year local manufacturer warranty.
One user commented, though the product is cheap, the quality is surprising very good.
With a 720w motor, chopping meat and vegetables is very easy.
Most important of all, it is easy to clean.
Removable parts are only the bowl, liquidiser and its respective cover.
Just remove the parts, wash them with kitchen soap and rinse with water.
The Kenwood FPP225 food processor is selling for RM288.
2) My second recommendation is the Philips HR7759 Food Processor.
The HR7759 has more then 6 user reviews.
This model was given mainly 5 star ratings for user satisfaction.
Feature wise, it has a 2.0 litre bowl and a 1.75 litre blender jar.
Multiple blades and accessories are available.
You can use the Kenwood food processor to make smoothies, slice and shred vegetables or meat and you can even use the emulsifying disc attachment for cream and egg whites.
Best of all, this particular unit comes with a 2 years local manufacturer warranty.
The Philips HR7759 is selling for RM360.
3) My third recommendation is the Panasonic MKF800 Food Processor.
The MKF800 has over 4 user reviews.
It was given mainly 4 – 5 stars rating for user satisfaction.
This food processor is a higher end unit compared to the other brands.
Amazingly, it has 33 functions!
It can mince, mash, chop, paste, drain, blend etc.
For those that love to bake, the MKF800 also has a knead knife blade.
What I love most about this food processor is the Glass Touch control panel.
Just touch the function that you want and use the front control knob to adjust to speed of the blade.
This unit comes with a 1 year local supplier warranty.
The selling price for Panasonic MKF800 is RM828.
4) My fourth recommendation is the KitchenAid KFPM1333 Food Processor.
A list of the top food processor brand in Malaysia would not be complete if I did not include KitchenAid.
KitchenAid products are premium quality.
I’ve been to a couple of baking studios and they always have a mixer from KitchenAid on the counter.
Maybe it is the design or maybe it is the built quality.
Nonetheless, professional bakers tend to like the kitchen equipment from KitchenAid.
As I am writing this article, the KitchenAid KFPM1333 did not receive any user reviews yet.
The KFPM1333 has a whopping 13 cups attachment!
It also has a setting to adjust how thick or thin you want to slice.
The adjustable slicing disc can slice from thin (1mm) to thick (6mm).
This takes precision automated food cutting to the next level.
The KFPM1333 can slice, shred, knead, chop and purée almost any type of food.
With so many features and functions, it is understandable you have to pay a premium price.
The KitchenAid KFPM1333 is selling for RM2,299.
A food processor is just a tool.
It is a useful kitchen tool to help you save time preparing food or raw material for cooking or baking.
The list above is obviously not comprehensive.
There are many other brand of food processor available either in shopping malls or online e-commerce sites.
Choose one that meets your budget and requirement.
Remember, “Good things are not cheap and cheap things are not good”.
If you do not know which food processor to buy, use the list above as a guide.
At least now you know which are the top selling models and which food processor others are recommending.
